What is the NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service?
Key Features of the Service
The NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service offers confidential consultations, no prescription charges, personalised contraceptive options, convenient access without GP registration, and ongoing support from trained pharmacists to ensure your reproductive health needs are met.

How Does the Service Work?
When you come to our pharmacy, our team will begin by asking a few initial questions to better understand your needs. You will then have a private consultation with a pharmacist in a designated consultation room, ensuring your comfort and confidentiality. During this meeting, the pharmacist will enquire about your health history and circumstances to identify the most appropriate contraceptive options for you.
As part of the assessment process, you may have your blood pressure checked and your Body Mass Index (BMI) measured by a member of our team. Using this information, our pharmacists will offer tailored advice and, when suitable, provide you with the oral contraception that aligns with your needs.
If a pharmacist is not available during your visit, our team will gladly arrange an appointment for you to return at a time that works best for you. We are dedicated to providing you with the care and support you deserve.
